About These Optical Tools

Why Transpose?

Optical transposition allows you to write a prescription from a plus cylinder form to a minus cylinder form without changing its refractive value. It is essential when ordering lenses from labs that exclusively use minus cylinder formats.

Near & Intermediate Calculation

When calculating a reading prescription, the ADD power is algebraically added to the distance sphere. For computer (intermediate) vision, we generally take 50% of the total near ADD and apply it to the distance sphere.
